Callaway Golf Club and Sam’s Club have announced the next edition of their annual “Callaway World Golf Championship” will take place in 2019.
It will be the last year of the “Sam’s Club” golf club series and it will take part in the 2019 Callaway World Championships at the Barclays Championship in Queens, New York.
A Callaway spokeswoman said the club is very pleased to announce the 2018 season will be its last.
“We are incredibly excited to continue to build our global brand with the 2018 edition of our Callaway Championship,” she said.
The Callaway Women’s Golf Championship has been in existence since 1994 and will take its place at the 2020 tournament in New Orleans.
The women’s golf world has been captivated by Callaway’s brand for the past decade.
The company is best known for its “Sam” golf clubs.
The company is owned by the family of former US President Jimmy Carter, who is also a shareholder.
The 2018 edition will be hosted by the US National Golf Association, which has been involved in golf since the 1950s and has played the tournament since 1992.
The National Golfers Association said it will announce the schedule of the 2020 Callaway championship at a later date.
