Miami Beach casino wowed with a rooftop cinema bar and dance floor on Sunday, but what’s the deal with the hotel’s $8 million roof?
The hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge features a retractable screen for the dancers to perform on, and it was open to the public as of Saturday night.
The lounge, which also includes a rooftop pool and an outdoor dance floor, was open until 6 a.m. on Sunday and was closed to the general public.
The rooftop bar also featured a large screen that was open for guests to dance on.
The $8.5 million roof also had a projector and two separate screens, but the resort didn’t allow the public to view them because they were part of the hotel pool.
The casino’s website also did not list the number of guests who were invited to the rooftop bar, but guests who got the chance to dance in the pool were told the venue was open at 6 a,m.
The hotel has yet to release the total cost of the project, but hotel officials have said the hotel is working on a $5 million renovation that includes a new roof.
The hotel plans to use some of that money to build a more modern venue.
The resort’s website did not indicate whether or not it planned to charge a $2 fee for the rooftop pool, but a person who answered the phone at the resort’s office on Saturday morning told the News-Journal the pool was free to use.
The pool is currently free to the city.
